PE Mini Conference
On Friday, October 10th, I attended and helped work at the PE Mini Conference, which was both enjoyable and educational. The keynote speaker, Dr. John R. Passarini, was a man that received the Disney Teacher of the Year award in 2003 for his outstanding work in adapted PE. His passion for his work was apparent in his heartfelt speech about a former student of his named Katie, who depicted all qualities of an athlete even though she had a connective tissue disorder. Being only 28 inches, Dr. Passarini still managed to involve Katie in physically active opportunities. Besides opening eyes to the possibilites of PE, the conference also introduced a variety of activities such as kinball. While I missed much of the activities when working at the raffle table, I was able to attend the section on low and high technology. I participated in and highly enjoyed the video games that provided physical activity, and watched a presentation on a new form of technology to record heart rates of students. I look forward to attending future conferences and learning more on the field.

First Lesson Review
After reviewing the recording of my first attempt at teaching the class, I have noticed several areas in my presentation that need improvement. My relaxed demeanor comes across as being unenthusiastic. To correct this, I need to excite myself before future lessons and focus on making sure that my inflection is loud. I should become more active in my body language and move in a way that will captivate my audience more effectively. The lesson itself could be improved by placing the focus on one cue rather than incorporating every component of the jump-shot at once. Furthermore, I should chose an activity that allows every participant to feel comfortable and not feel as if everyone can evaluate their skill level.
